Project Jonah is New Zealand’s leading marine mammal welfare charity. They have worked since 1974 to rescue and protect whales and dolphins and the oceans they call home. They do this by training members of the public with the skills and knowledge to help highly-stressed, wild animals when they strand on our beaches.
However, they are more than just an emergency service. Their work focuses on further education of communities, universities, interest groups, schools and kindergartens. They want all New Zealanders to know how they can help protect our oceans.
Their mission is to empower and inspire. They want every young New Zealander to become a passionate advocate for our oceans and the life within - today and for the future.
